Pilates

Pilates is a gentle form of exercise focused on core stability and re-balancing muscles the body.
Pilates can be beneficial for anyone with back pain, poor posture, low core strength, or just looking for a gentle way to exercise.

In our classes you will focus on using the correct muscles to perform each movement, while re-educating your body to improve and prevent injuries. With a focus on small class sizes, our experienced instructor provides individual attention where needed and ensures that you are not lost in the crowd.

If you have a specific injury or complaint it may be helpful to attend an individual session with a physiotherapist. Please contact us to discuss this.

Current classes are held:
10am Monday and 5.30pm Tuesday 
Pilates on the Plains” at the Torrumbarry hall on Wednesdays at 7 pm.
Cohuna at Cohuna Co, 38 Channel St. Cohuna at 4 pm on Thursdays.

It is advised to have an individual assessment prior to starting the Pilates classes to ascertain the level to exercise at.

Please Note: From April 1st 2019, private health insurances will no longer provide rebates for group Pilates classes.

Strong & Stable Seniors Group Classes

A lot of older people stop exercising for various reasons, including thinking that you don’t need to anymore or thinking that you “can’t do it”.

The reality is that exercise is just as important when we are aging as when we are young. Exercise helps with muscle strength and stability, which in turn protects from injuries; balance exercises will help prevent falls; and strength training has been proven to assist bone strength.

Our Strong & Stable class is specifically designed to assist with your strength and balance as you get older. Supervised by a Physiotherapist, you will be given safe and effective exercises to help you maintain your independence.

Hydrotherapy

Rich River Physiotherapy offer group hydrotherapy classes offer many benefits to a large variety of people. It is very suitable for rehabilitation following injury or surgery, for arthritis sufferers or for general spinal pain and stiffness and DVA patients.
